I first came across Warm Whisky as a drink when living in Galway on the west coast of Ireland. Looking to warm up on typical Galway day (Grey sky, freezing cold with horizontal drizzle) we went to a pub and asked for a hot drink. They didn’t do coffee or tea but could make a hot whisky. After trying it once, it has stuck with us ever since.

Ingredients
30ml Whiskey
1 Slice of Lemon
5 Cloves
1tsp Sugar
Hot Water
Directions
Take the slice of lemon and imbed the cloves into it.
Add the sugar, whiskey and slice of lemon to a glass.
Fill the glass with hot water and serve.
Note: In addition to tasting great and warming you up, Warm Whisky is also very good at soothing a sore throat when suffering from a cold or the flu.
Oh and yes, there is a lot of grey sky and horizontal drizzle in Galway but it's really not that bad.
