If you’re into walking, once you walk along the beach to the end of the protective rocks you’ll see that the beach actually extends right along the bay to join up with Parry beach at the other end. If you head the other way along the rocks you will find Elephant Rocks Beach and if you continue on you will see some beautiful scenery. You need to be a bit careful in doing this though as some of the rocks are can be a bit treacherous, good balance and fitness are required.
To my mind, the best time to visit this beach is in summer either before or after the school holidays. As the pool is so sheltered from the ocean, this is the place where the school holiday swimming lessons are held. In short this means that during this time the beach can be absolutely packed. I’d recommend you try a different spot for the six weeks of school holidays.
